Taryn O’Neil, MA, LCPC, CCTP
(she/her/hers)
I believe you are worthy of connection, support, and healing.
Looking for support but not sure where to start?
You’re in the right place.
I provide individual therapy services to adults virtually within IL.
How I work
Therapy with me is about genuine connection & collaboration.
We’ll also work on real, practical skills that you can apply to your day-to-day life.
Sessions with me will be strengths-based and focused on empowering you. I understand that everyone may be looking for something different in their therapy experience. I am happy to be flexible and find what works for you.
We will talk through your goals and come up with a tailored treatment plan to meet your needs. Some examples of things we may work on together are:
Identifying triggers to anxiety and depression
Exploring relationship patterns from past and present
Learning about your attachment style and what this means in relationships
Drawing upon inner child nurturing, parts work, and reparenting techniques
Using your core values as a guide toward making meaningful change
Finding ways to help you feel more present and engaged in daily life
Practicing cognitive strategies, breath work, and coping skills
My core values
I value the importance of delivering trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care. As a white therapist, I am dedicated to ongoing anti-racism and anti-oppression work, as well as social justice advocacy. I integrate feminist therapy into my clinical practice and actively invite conversations around the impact of inequality, systemic issues, and social/political issues. I strive to create a safe, affirming, inclusive space which welcomes and celebrates all intersecting identities.
Compassion
You deserve empathy, understanding, and care in your therapy experience. Through receiving compassion in therapy, we can help you to develop more compassion for yourself.
Connection
I believe that effective therapy firmly relies upon having a strong therapeutic relationship. I prioritize the client/therapist relationship as the primary tool for change.
Safety
Cultivating emotional safety in the therapy space is essential. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable and open when we feel emotionally safe to do so.
Authenticity
It’s important that the therapy space doesn’t feel stuffy or robotic. I bring my genuine self into the space so that you can feel free to do the same. I believe that humor is healing and enjoy leaning into laughter with my clients.

Outside of Therapy
In my time outside of the therapy room, I enjoy being active, practicing yoga, being a dog mom to Francesca (Frankie), caring for my plants, and exploring new restaurants in Chicago. Practicing yoga has taught me the power of listening to our bodies, being compassionate with ourselves through challenges, and how grounding it can be to simply come back to our breath. To unwind and recharge, I love reading psychological thriller books, Netflixing, cooking a favorite meal, and a good cup of coffee.
